Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child—A Simple Gift, A Simple Message

 

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through simple, gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.

 

Please read the following story, by Franklin Graham, of how one young girl’s life, and eternity were changed forever because she received a shoe box from Operation Christmas Child:

 

 

One child whose heart was touched was Cecilia, a 13-year-old Mexican girl

suffering from a malignant tumor behind her eye. She heard the Gospel, during the gift distribution, and immediately accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Two days later, her sickness put Cecilia in the hospital. She asked her parents to bring her the doll and teddy bear from her shoe box, so ‘I can take them to heaven with me.’ Cecilia said she had lived the most wonderful day of her life on the day she got the box and found Jesus. Cecilia is in heaven now, but through her witness, her parents and grandparents have become believers.

 

MEFC is collecting shoe boxes to spread the joy of Christmas and the power of the Gospel during the week of November 16-22.

 

How to pack your shoe box.

 

1.  Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please).  Wrapped shoe boxes are available along with an instructional brochure at the Montgomery Evangelical Free Church.

 

2.  Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14.

 

3.  Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child.

 

4.  Please donate $7.00 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping .  Make checks payable to Samaritan's Purse with a note on the memo line that the donation as for Operation Christmas Child.

 

5. Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop off at MEFC during the drop off dates and times listed below.

Cell Phone Collection

Donate cell phones for a good cause!

• Have you recently changed your cell phones?
• What did you do with your old cell phones?
• Are they sitting in your home or office?

• During the month of November you can donate your old cell phones and help us raise funds for Montgomery Evangelical Free Missions.

 

Simply drop off your old cell  phones in the bin located on the table in the church narthex!
